Bulldogs Post Three Top-10 Finishes at Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Led by three top-10 finishes, University of Georgia diving continued competition at the Tennessee Diving Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
In the women's 3-meter springboard final, senior McKensi Austin finished in fourth place with a zone-qualifying score of 312.40, following a sixth-place score of 302.45 in prelims. Fellow senior Freida Lim placed 10th in the final with a score of 275.90, after taking fourth in prelims with a zone score of 309.45, her best of the season. For the second-consecutive day, Minnesota's Joy Zhu earned the victory.
Elsewhere in the earlier round, freshman Raquel Mason placed 30th (235.55), followed by sophomore Ellie Crump in 32nd place (233.30), redshirt sophomore Ambria D'Alonzo in 40th (207.45) and sophomore Kelliann Howell in 43rd (187.95).
In the men's 1-meter final, junior Zach Allen placed third in a competitive event with a zone-qualifying score of 314.35, finishing seven points behind Peter Smithson of SMU. In prelims, Allen took eighth with a mark of 293.45, while sophomore Hudson Coldren finished 29th with a score of 222.05.
The Bulldogs will conclude the Tennessee Diving Invitational tomorrow with their second platform events of the season. At the Tennessee Invitational in November, Lim finished first, joined by Austin in fourth place and Howell in fifth, while Allen was the runner-up in the men's event. Sunday's competition starts with the men's round at 10 a.m., followed by the women's round at 12:30 p.m. Live results will be available on DiveMeets.com.
