Georgia to Host Annual Red and Black Scrimmage Friday

ATHENS, Ga. ---Fans will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the No. 3-ranked Georgia equestrian team when it kicks off the 2019-20 season with its annual Red and Black Scrimmage Friday, September 20, at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga. The scrimmage begins at 3 p.m. and admission is free.
The Georgia equestrian team looks to continue its legacy as one of the best programs in the country in the 2019-20 campaign. After three straight Reserve Champion finishes at the NCEA National Championship, the team is ready to prove "We Will".
Georgia won national titles in Horsemanship, Reining and Equitation Over Fences as well as being crowned overall Western discipline National Champions to end the 2018-19 campaign.
The scrimmage will feature fun activities for Bulldog fans, including "Picture with a Pony," Bulldog Trivia, and the "90/75" drawing, during which fans can enter to win prizes. In addition, students who "Commit to the G" will have the chance to receive 1,000 Student Rewards Bonus Points for attending.
The season officially starts for the Jumping Seat squad on Friday, September 27 against Sweet Briar, before the entire team is in action on Saturday, October 5th against South Carolina.
