ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia men's tennis team will honor three seniors — Walker Duncan, Emil Reinberg and Jan Zielinski — before Sunday's match at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex against the No. 44-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks at 1 p.m.
The trio of seniors will be recognized at approximately 12:45 p.m. during an on-court ceremony. This will be the last regular season home contest for the senior class, which has won two Southeastern Conference championships, an SEC tournament title and has made two trips to the NCAA semifinals round.
Georgia enters Sunday's contest fighting to become one of 16 hosts for the NCAA first and second rounds. The Bulldogs, who have won three-straight matches this season, are ranked No. 19 nationally and are in fourth place in the Southeastern Conference standings.
Part of Georgia's success last weekend can be credited to the four, five and six courts, where the Bulldogs went 7-0. For his efforts, rookie Blake Croyder earned SEC Freshman of the Week after going 3-0 without losing a set.
Not to be outdone, Bulldog senior Jan Zielinski has won three-straight singles matches and recently moved into the top-15 of Georgia's career record book with 95 doubles wins over the last four years.
Head coach Manuel Diaz enters Sunday with 696 career wins. He is just behind legendary, Hall of Fame head coach Dan Magill, who won a SEC record 706 career matches.
