Meet Notes

ATHENS, Ga. – The seventh-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team will take competition to Auburn, Alabama, to face the No. 1-ranked Auburn Tigers on Friday, March 8, at 4 p.m. ET.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) matchup between the Bulldogs and Tigers will mark the last regular season meet of the 2018-19 campaign.

In Georgia's most recent meet against then-ranked No. 4 South Carolina, the Bulldogs (4-5, 3-2 SEC) defeated the Gamecocks, 13-7. Last Saturday's meet was also Senior Day for the Bulldogs. Two standout seniors Emma Mandarino and Graysen Stroud received Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honors for their rides in Equitation Over Fences and Reining, respectively. The Bulldogs swept all events against the Gamecocks to clinch their third SEC win.

The undefeated Tigers (12-0, 5-0 SEC) hold three of the top-four event rankings in Equitation on the Flat, Equitation Over Fences and Horsemanship. Auburn traveled to Dallas, Texas, this past Saturday, where the team defeated WHO, 10-8. Caitlin Boyle, McKayla Langmeier and Lauren Diaz claimed MOP honors for the Tigers.

The SEC Championship tournament will be hosted by the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station, Texas, from March 29-30. The NCEA National Championships will take place April 17-20 in Waco, Texas.
