Georgia to Open Season against South Carolina Saturday

ATHENS, Ga. --- The third-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team will open its season against No. 6 South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex.
The Jumping Seat squad was in action last week and used record-breaking scores to defeat Sweet Briar 8-2. Six Georgia rides scored a 90 or above. Senior Ali Tritschler shined in both Fences and Flat, earning two career-best scores to start the year. She jumped to a high score of 92 in Fences and rode to a 93 in Flat. The Southport, Conn., native also earned Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honors for Fences. Senior Grace Bridges notched the highest Flat score for the Bulldogs since 2005 and earned MOP honors with a nearly perfect 99.
South Carolina started the season defeating No. 9 Fresno State, 11-8. Madison Sellman (Flat) and Tyler Petrie (Fences) earned Southeastern Conference honors for the month of September.
