ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia soccer team will face two in-state rivals this weekend, first hosting Georgia State at the Turner Soccer Complex on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. before making the trip to Kennesaw to face the Owls on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m.

Georgia State Series History                                          Â
The Bulldogs and Panthers are meeting on the soccer field for the first time since 2011. In that contest in Athens finished with the Dawgs taking a 4-1 victory over the Panthers for their sixth win in a row. Georgia is 9-0-3 against Georgia State in Athens

Kennesaw State Series History                                        Â
This is the first time the Georgia soccer team will be making the trip to Kennesaw to face the Owls. Georgia has been victorious in the previous two meetings in Athens.  Â

Last Time Out
Georgia fell to Purdue, 1-0, after a late second half goal on Thursday night at the Turner Soccer Complex.Â

With fifteen minutes left to play, the Boilermakers' Kylie Hase notched the first goal of the night. A corner kick from Glisson gave Boyan an opportunity to tie the match but she was unable to find the back of the net. As seconds ticked off the clock Glisson found herself with the ball again and attempted to once again bring the score even. The shot went wide as time expired, securing the Purdue 1-0 win.

The Georgia soccer team played to a 0-0 draw in double-overtime against the Virginia Tech Hokies at the Turner Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon. This marks the first time Georgia has played to a 0-0 draw since Billy Lesesne's first game as head coach of the Bulldogs on August 21, 2015 at High Point.
