ATHENS, Ga.--- The Georgia soccer team continues its five-game home stand this weekend by welcoming the Purdue Boilermakers and the Virginia Tech Hokies to the Turner Soccer Complex.

On Thursday (Aug. 30), Georgia (2-1-1) will square off against Purdue (2-0-1) at 7 p.m. This is the first time in program history that the Bulldogs will face Purdue. The Bulldogs have played three other first-time opponents so far this season, including Georgetown, San Diego, and Indiana, going 1-1-1 against those teams.

On Sunday (Sept. 2), UGA faces Virginia Tech (2-0-2) at 2 p.m. Georgia played Virginia Tech for the first time last season, leaving Blacksburg with a loss. The Bulldogs hope to even the series at their home on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT
Georgia enters the weekend looking to build on its scoring momentum.  Last week, freshman Abby Boyan scored two equalizing goals to guide Georgia to a 2-2 double overtime tie against Indiana.  Indiana was first on the board in the eighth minute of play and held that 1-0 lead until sophomore Reagan Glisson served the ball to Boyan, who headed it in for the score in the 34th minute. Again, it was the Hoosiers with the go-ahead score. Three minutes later, Boyan answered again, scoring her second equalizing goal of the game and second goal of her collegiate career.

Five unanswered goals, including a hat trick from Glisson, propelled Georgia to a 5-1 victory over the Charlotte 49ers in the Bulldogs' last outing.

GLISSON NAMED SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After registering eight points on three goals and two assists in the tie with Indiana and win against Charlotte, Glisson was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week.

WATCH HER RUN
A standout on defense, freshman Cecily Stoute showed her speed and created opportunity to take two shots of her own, as well as assist Boyan's second goal against Indiana. Both of Stoute's shots were on target and saved by the Indiana goalkeeper.
