GAME NOTES

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia Bulldogs are hungry for an SEC win as the No. 17 Tennessee Volunteers come to Athens for a game on Friday, October 12 at the Turner Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs opened SEC play with a win over Arkansas, then tied Missouri, before dropping four consecutive games, three of which were against ranked opponents.

Stoute on the International Stage
Georgia freshman Cecily Stoute played for Trinidad and Tobago in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier against Mexico and the United States. She missed Georgia's game against Auburn, but returns to face the Volunteers.

Stoute, who was a member of the U20 National Team for Trinidad and Tobago, was one of 20 members of the roster for the tournament.  She trained with the team this summer before coming to Georgia, but this was the first game she played on the national team for Trinidad and Tobago.

Weekend Rewind
AUBURN » A second half goal lifted the Auburn Tigers over the Georgia Bulldogs with a 1-0 final score at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

The Bulldogs created chances in the first half, but were unable to capitalize in the final third.

Sophomore Reagan Glisson led with four of the Bulldogs' eight shots, two of which were on target. Freshmen Abby Boyan and Bella Ponzi as well as sophomore Landon Lambert and junior Keely Cartrett contributed attempts in the shots column.  Georgia held Auburn to 11 shots, while only allowing one corner kick.

SOUTH CAROLINA » Georgia dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 12 South Carolina at the Turner Soccer Complex.

The Bulldogs matched up in nearly every category including shots (10-11), corners (2-4) and saves (3-4), but ultimately came up short on the scoreboard against the two-time defending SEC champions.

Georgia won the ball early and created opportunity with all three shots in the first half on target.  Although the Gamecocks took seven shots in the first 45 minutes of play, Georgia goalkeeper freshman Emory Wegener was able to keep the scoreboard clean at the half after making two saves.

Coming back to the pitch, the Gamecocks found themselves in the Georgia corner. A shot toward the box connected with Tatumn Milazzo's head to bring the score to 1-0 at the 45:52 mark.

Sophomore Jessie Denney had a chance for the equalizer in the 57th minute as her cross was inches away from hitting the net but the Gamecock goalkeeper knocked it back into play. The Bulldogs kept fighting placing six more shots on goal, but ultimately fell to the Gamecocks with a final score of 1-0.

Fancy Footwork and Tickling the Ivories
Delaney Erwin can play the piano and talked about her hidden talent in an interview with georgiadogs.com.

"It has a lot to do with creativity- on the field I like to be creative offensively and I like to make my own stuff on the piano."

A Summer Spent Serving With A Ball At Her Feet
It is no secret that junior Keely Cartrett is beyond passionate about her love for soccer, but even more than that, Cartrett is also well known across campus for her passion for Christ.

While most students away for summer break are seen lounging on the beach or sleeping in until noon, Cartrett was doing something much different. This summer, Cartrett spent three weeks in Barcelona, Spain on a soccer mission trip with an organization called "Athletes in Action".
