STANFORD, Calif. — Sunday's final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate was cancelled at the midway point when rain rendered the course unplayable.

No. 4-ranked Georgia was in the midst of a solid day and had climbed from sixth to fourth on the team leaderboard when play ended. The tournament's final results will be recorded as the standings following Saturday's second round.

"It's disappointing because we were really playing great," head coach Josh Brewer said. "(The course) was definitely unplayable. I want to play, but you've got to be fair. There was really no way we could have continued. You never know how the entire day will go, but we were in a position to really move up the leaderboard today. At the same time, we shouldn't have put ourselves in that position. That's how you let something or somebody else decide your fate."

Therefore, Georgia finished sixth in the field, which included half of the top-10 teams in nation. Individually, three Bulldogs posted top-20 efforts, with Mary Ellen Shuman tying for 16th and Rinko Mitsunaga and Bailey Tardy both tying for 18th.

Tardy was 3-under through the first nine holes Sunday when play was suspended.
The tournament was Georgia's final event of the fall campaign. The Bulldogs posted a pair of victories in four appearances, winning the Cardinal Kickoff and the Windy City Collegiate. In addition, Georgia shot a school-record 19-under at the Annika Intercollegiate.

The Bulldogs will open their spring season at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on February 12-14 in Rioa Mar, P.R.
