ATHENS-----Georgia senior Kat Ding has been named SEC Gymnast of the Week for her performance against Arkansas, it was announced Tuesday.
Ding was also named CollegeSports360.com's Primetime Performer of the Week for women's gymnastics.
In just her second career all-around, Ding placed first with a 39.550 in the Gym Dogs' win over the third-ranked Razorbacks last Friday. She matched the highest all-around score by a Georgia gymnast since the 2009 NCAA Super Six.
A native of Sparks, Nev., Ding also finished first on bars with a 9.95 - her fourth score of at least 9.925 on the event this year - and tied for first on vault with a 9.9. She also turned in a 9.85 on beam to tie for second, in addition to a 9.85 in her first floor routine of the season.
Ding, the reigning NCAA uneven bars champion, is currently ranked No. 1 nationally in the all-around, No. 6 on vault and 10th on bars. She leads the team with nine event titles this season, including five on bars.
The fourth-ranked Gym Dogs will face Kentucky Saturday at 4 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum.
