AUBURN, Ala. --- Georgia's track and field teams continued their 2011 outdoor success at the War Eagle Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Torrin Lawrence left the track with the sixth-fastest time in school history in the 200-meter dash after registering a time of 20.55. This is the fourth-fastest time in the nation this year.

Junior John Smith won the pole vault for the second week in a row after clearing the bar at 16 feet, 9 1/4 inches on his opening attempt. Smith reached 17-2.75 during the Spec Towns meet last week.

The Lady Bulldogs managed to go 1-2 in the steeplechase behind a career-best performance by senior Taylor Adams. Adams continued her development in the event by clocking a 10:40.34 to win, which improved her No. 4 spot in the record books.

Leslie Boozer, who holds the No. 2 spot on the all-time list, finished second with a time of 10:53.85.

In the men's steeplechase, freshman Charlie Sparks won for the second consecutive week after completing his seven and a half laps in 9:27.78.

Also on the track, freshman Megan Malasarte shot to fifth on Georgia's all-time top-10 list with a personal-best time of 2:07.10 for fourth place. Her freshman teammate, Stella Christoforou, took fifth with a time of 2:09.37.

Senior Georgina Nembhard improved her career-best time to 23.40 after finishing fourth in the 200 with a 23.40. Her finish was the second-best collegiate finish at the meet and bettered her No. 5 time in school history.

Freshman Braydon Anderson had five throws before launching a personal-best toss of 204-9 to finish second in the javelin.

In the women's triple jump, junior Latroya Darrell had a top mark of 41-3.75 on his sixth and final attempt.

Also, Santerri Baker clocked a career-best 14.02 and finished third in the 100 hurdles.

Late Friday, sophomore Ashley Shiver (4:35.27) edged Penn State's Rebekka Simko (4:35.68) for a victory in the 1500.

A total of only four events were completed on Friday before strong storms postponed the rest of the action on Saturday.
