ATHENS, Ga. --- Three members of the Georgia men's golf team were named First-Team All-SEC and another one was picked as the SEC Freshman of the Year, according to an announcement made by the league office on Monday.
Seniors Chris Kirk (Woodstock) and Brendon Todd (Charlotte, N.C.) and sophomore Brian Harman (Savannah) received First-Team All-SEC status, while Hudson Swafford (Tallahassee, Fla.) was picked as the league's top rookie.
The voting was conducted by the league's 12 coaches.
"We are very proud of Chris, Brendon, Brian and Hudson," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "They work very hard so that they can represent our school to the best of their ability. It's nice to see them recognized this way."
Kirk and Todd earned First-Team honors for the third time in their careers, while Harman repeated on the First Team. Swafford is the fifth Bulldog named SEC Freshman of the Year, including the third in the last four years (Kevin Kisner in 2003, Todd in 2004 and Harman in 2006). Kirk ranks second in the SEC with a 71.84 scoring average, while Todd is sixth at 72.30, Harman is 13th at 72.78 and Swafford is 33rd at 74.00.
The Bulldogs will return to action May 13-14 at the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro.
