•9:00-10:00 am: Discussion/Video Analysis of Shot Put Technique with Don Babbitt
•10:15-11:30 am: Throwing Demonstration Shot Put Technique & Drills (glide & spin) with Reese Hoffa, Rhuben Williams & Chad McClendon
•11:45-12:15 pm: Lecture The Mental Aspects of Training and Competing in the Throws with Don Babbitt
•12:15-1:15 pm: LUNCH
•1:15-2:45 pm: Weight Training/Conditioning Demonstration in Stegeman Coliseum Weight-room, and discussion of how to set up strength and power training with Don Babbitt
•3:00-3:30 pm: Lecture Discussion of Discus Technique with Don Babbitt
•3:45-5:00 pm: Throwing Demonstration Discus Technique and Drills with Chad McClendon

•9:00-10:00 am: Lecture Discussion of Javelin Technique with Don Babbitt
•10:15-11:30 am: Throwing Demonstration Javelin Technique and Drills with Breaux Greer, Trevor Snyder, & Mike Hazle
•11:45-1:00 pm: Lecture/Demonstration Special Strength Exercises & Weight Training for Javelin with Don Babbitt, Breaux Greer, Trevor Snyder, & Mike Hazle

With: Don Babbitt: Throws Coach, University of Georgia
Coach of 22 NCAA Champions and 82 All-Americans in the throws. Voted 2003 USTCA Men’s Throws Coach of the Year. Served as personal coach to Adam Nelson, Breaux Greer, Reese Hoffa, Brad Snyder, and Jason Tunks, in addition to many other elite throwers. Has coached 2 World Champions and 13 USATF National Champions.

Reese Hoffa: (72-6 1/2 SP)
2006 World Indoor Shot Put Champion and Ranked #1 in the world by IAAF. 5-Time All-American while at Georgia, and former Georgia State High School Champion. Ranked #3 in the world in the shot put by the IAAF. Won the Gold Medal at the 2003 Pan-Am Games, and a Silver Medal at the 2004 World Indoor Championships. Member of the 2004 Olympic Team for the US.

Breaux Greer: (287-8 JT)
American record-holder in the men’s javelin and 7-time defending USATF National Champion. Two-time Olympic Finalist and ranked #2 in the World in 2004 by both the IAAF and Track & Field News.

The Georgia Throws Clinic will offer;

LIVE THROWING DEMONSTRATIONS BY SOME OF THE WORLD’S TOP THROWERS!!

DISCUSSION ON MENTAL PREPARATION AND MENTAL TRAINING FOR THE THROWS!!

COMPLETE WEIGHT TRAINING AND CONDITIONING

DEMONSTRATIONS BY REESE HOFFA, BREAUX GREER, AND MANY OTHERS!!

-The check-in for the clinic will be held in the on the University of Georgia campus beginning at 8:30am in the Ground Floor Conference Room of the Stegeman Coliseum for Saturday’s clinic, and in the Lobby of the Rankin Smith Academic Center for Sunday’s clinic. The shot put demonstration will be held in the indoor training area underneath the Baseball Stadium (it will be outside at the track if good weather), and the javelin & discus demonstrations will be held at the Spec Towns Track and Field Complex. Parking will be free in the parking lots near the Rankin Smith Center & Stegeman Coliseum. Directions to the Georgia Throws Clinic will be mailed/e-mailed upon receipt of registration.
