Auburn, Ala. --- A three-and-a-half hour rain delay thwarted what was the best start to the four rounds of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships for the Georgia Lady Bulldogs on Friday.

The 12 teams which did not finish their rounds on Friday will return to the course on Saturday morning to complete the NCAAs.

Georgia will do so in 10th place in the team competition. The Lady Dogs are at 34-over for the championships, just two shots behind Washington and Arizona State, who are tied for eighth; four strokes behind seventh place Ohio State; and five off of sixth-place Texas.

When the siren sounded suspended play at 2:57 p.m. CT, the Lady Dogs were 1-over with players on their fourth-seventh holes of play. Competition resumed at 6:30 p.m. and Georgia lost five strokes over the next five holes before play was suspended again due to darkness.
