Lady Bulldogs Finish 14 At Fall Preview

Opelika, Ala. -- The No. 10-ranked Georgia women's golf team posted a 12-over 300 in Sunday's final round of the Fall Preview and finished the 54-hole event in 14th place at 917.

Freshman Allison Martin paced Georgia on Sunday with a 2-under 70, the first par-or-better round of the weekend for the Lady Bulldogs. Martin began play on No. 17 with the shotgun start and fell to 1-over following a bogey at No. 2. She then posted birdies at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 7 to move to 2-under. Following a bogey at No. 11, she rallied with a birdie at No. 13 before finishing with three straight pars.

The Lady Bulldogs' other counting rounds consisted of a 73 from Whitney Wade, a 78 from Kelly Froelich and a 79 from Natalia Nicholls. Jackie Beers shot 84.

Individually, Martin tied for 32nd at 226, Wade tied for 48th at 231, Froelich and Nicholls tied for 63rd at 235 and Beers tied for 68th at 236.

No. 9 Auburn and No. 1 Duke tied for the team championship at 870. Pepperdine's Carolina Llano fired a 6-under 66 on Sunday en route to winning medalist honors at 2-under 214, three shots better than the rest of the field.

Georgia will return to action in two weeks when the Lady Bulldogs travel to Nashville for the Mason Rudolph Invitational.
