Georgia Slips To 16 In Fall Preview

Auburn, Ala. -- The No. 10-ranked Georgia women's golf team shot 316 in Saturday's second round of the Fall Preview at the Grand National Lake Course, slipping from a tie for seventh to a tie for 16th in the process.

Georgia's counting rounds were a 75 from Jackie Beers, a 78 from Natalia Nicholls, an 80 from Allison Martin and an 83 from Kelly Froelich. Whitney Wade shot 84.

Individually, Beers is tied for 38th at 152, Martin and Nicholls are tied for 53rd at 156, Froelich is tied for 59th at 157 and Wade is tied for 63rd at 158.

Arizona fired a 4-over 292 to grab the lead in the team competition, two shots ahead of first-round leader Auburn. Arizona's Kassandra Kirkland and Erica Blasberg are 1-2 on the individual leaderboard at 4- and 3-under, respectively.

The Preview field includes 18 of the nation's top-ranked teams entering the 2003-04 season. The tournament is designed to give those squads a chance to play the same Grand National Lakes Course that will host the 2004 NCAA Championships next May.
