Winston-Salem, N.C. -- The No. 16-ranked Georgia women's golf team carded a 6-over 290 in Friday's second round of the NCAA East Regional at the Salem Glen Country Club to remain in third place entering Saturday's third and final round.

The Lady Bulldogs' score represented their lowest tally of the 2002-03 season, besting a 293 in the second round of last month's Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. More impressive than the team tally, however, was Georgia's overall performance. All five Lady Dogs shot 75 or better, paced by freshman Kelly Froelich's 1-under 71.

"I'm obviously pleased by our score, but I'm probably happier about the way everybody played," head coach Todd McCorkle said. "For a 75 to be your drop score when it was 90-something degrees here today, that's pretty solid."
