Auburn, Ala. --- Senior Summer Sirmons fired a 6-over 78 in the final round of Auburn's Derby Invitational on Sunday and slipped from a tie atop the leaderboard entering the day into seventh place in the final standings.
The Lady Bulldogs placed 11th in the field competing at the Auburn University Club. A third-round 305 supplied Georgia with a final score of 913.
The Lady Dogs were en route to perhaps their best score of the fall before they collapsed late in the day. Georgia played the final seven holes at 13-over par.
Tennessee won the tournament at 871, while the Lady Vols' Violeta Retamoza captured medalist honors on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff.
Sirmons was at even par through 12 holes but a triple-bogey at No. 13 ended any chances of an individual title. She then bogeyed No. 14 and double-bogeyed No. 18 en route to the clubhouse. Sirmons finished the tournament at 3-over 219.
