Lady Dogs Second After First Round Of Mercedes Collegiate

Knoxville, Tenn. --- The No. 5-ranked Georgia women's golf team shot a season-low 294 on Friday and is second by one shot after the first round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship at the Gettysvue Polo, Golf and Country Club.
Top-ranked Duke leads the field at 293. Purdue is third at 297, followed by Auburn, LSU and Michigan State in a three-way tie for fourth at 299.
The Lady Bulldogs received consistent scores throughout their lineup. Summer Sirmons paced Georgia with a 2-under 70 and is tied for third, three shots behind the individual leader, Duke's Leigh Anne Hardin. The Lady Dogs also counted a 74 from Angela Jerman and a pair of 75s by Whitney Christie and Natalia Nicholls. Abbi Francis shot 76 as Georgia's non-counter.
