Matt Williams is in his fourth year with the Georgia Bulldog tennis program. For the second consecutive year, he will serve as a program specialist. During his first two seasons, he contributed to the program as a graduate manager. He has experience as a volunteer coach as well. In 2017, Georgia went 19-6 and finished with a final national ranking of No. 6. The Bulldogs also played host to the NCAA Championships.
He arrived at Georgia following a year as an assistant tennis coach at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C., where he helped the Warriors qualify for the 2014 SSAC Conference Tournament.
In addition to his time with SWU, Williams has also served as a counselor for tennis camps at Clemson, Georgia, and UCLA. He has helped with both the Manny Diaz Bulldog Tennis Camp and Jeff Wallace Bulldog Tennis Camp during his summers in Athens.
Williams graduated from Mercer University with a B.S. in Chemistry in May of 2012 and earned an M.S. in Sport Pedagogy from the University of Georgia in May of 2016.
