Renee Horton joined the Georgia soccer staff as video coordinator in 2022 after serving in a similar role with head coach Keidane McAlpine’s staff at USC during the 2021 season.
Prior to USC, Horton served three seasons on the coaching staff at Xavier (2018-21), helping the Musketeers earn their first NCAA Tournament victory in 2019 over Virginia Tech. In the 2019 season, Xavier finished with a school-record 17 wins and claimed both the Big East regular season and tournament championships, earning Big East Staff of the Year honors in the process. During the season, the Musketeers set a school record for shutouts (12) and tallied the second-most assists (42) and points (128) in a season.
In her first season at Xavier, Horton helped the program post its first 10-win season and postseason appearance since 2003. The Musketeers finished fourth in the Big East standings and reached the semifinals of the conference tournament.
Horton previously coached two seasons (2016-17) at Lander University in Greenville, South Carolina, serving as an assistant coach. She also served as an assistant coach at her alma mater, South Florida.
In club coaching, Horton served as an Assistant Director of Coaching for Cincinnati United Soccer Club and was a staff coach for CUP. Prior to Cincinnati United, she served as a staff coach for Florida ODP for 14 years, including six years as a lead staff coach. Horton also served on the Region III ODP staff. Horton holds a USSF "C" License and has her USSF National Youth License.
Horton played collegiately at USF, appearing in 63 matches with 42 starts, posting a 37-27-6 record as a player. She also played on the Bulls' softball team, primarily appearing as a pinch runner. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2000 from USF, she played three seasons in the W-League.
