Stacey Kisil, who enters her fourth year at the University of Georgia, is in her first season as the athletic trainer for the Georgia Lady Bulldogs basketball program.
Kisil has worked with a vast variety of world-class athletes and has played a crucial role in their rehab and development. Most recently, she served as the athletic trainer for the Georgia track and field team, which won the school’s first-ever men’s outdoor national championship and claimed the program’s first women’s indoor national title in 2018.
The Etobicoke, Ontario Canada native has a wealth of knowledge in the athletic training and therapy field. Before her time at UGA, she owned Stacey Kisil Athletic Therapy, which serviced professional football players in the CFL, professional and semi-professional hockey players, and other community members.
Kisil served as an assistant athletic therapist for the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts football team from 2012-14 and was the head therapist for the Bay Street Pigs rugby football team during that time. Previous to her stint with those programs, she was the head athletic therapist for the Hamilton Redwings hockey club.
She began her career as a student therapist for four organizations between 2010-13 -- the Crossfit Coliseum Athletic Training Facility, Wishbone Athletics, Inc., the Hamilton Hurricanes football club and the Toronto Argonauts.
Kisil is a certified athletic trainer ATC, canadian athletic therapist CAT, State of Georgia certified athletic trainer, certified strength and conditioning coach (CSCS) with the NSCA, and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University in 2009. She also has a bachelor’s of applied health science from Sheridan College and a master’s of science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Georgia in 2019.
