Sam Edwards was named the director of social media and creative content for the Georgia women’s basketball team in the summer of 2022.
Edwards leads the program’s social media efforts, including video and graphics content, while also assisting with recruiting.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Middle Tennessee State University in 2015, Edwards gained a wealth of experience as a producer, editor and content manager. He began his career with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, where he oversaw and developed projects aimed at fan engagement. Edwards collaborated with digital media, sponsorship, community relations and marketing to ensure consistent and creative content.
Following four years with the Grizzlies, Edwards was the video content manager for the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. He worked with the internal teams and strategic partners to plan and execute social media initiatives.
Edwards has received numerous Emmy nominations, including his work on the MLK Sports Legacy Honorees, MLK 50: Memphis and the NBA and Beyond Grit. He also won Best Commercial Campaign for his work with the Pinnacle Financial Group.
Edwards has a girlfriend (Khaliah) and one son (Nathan).
