Guzzardo Announces Final Members of Staff

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia women's basketball head coach Ayla Guzzardo has announced the hiring of the final two members of her staff Monday afternoon, naming Aja Ochie Director of Player Development and Braxston Lee Director of Skill Development/Video Coordinator.

Ochie previously served as Dunham head girls basketball coach in Baton Rouge, La.A year prior Ochie served as an assistant coach at her alma mater Southeastern Louisiana University alongside Guzzardo.

The Somerville, Tennessee, native arrives in Athens after spending 10 seasons as an assistant coach with the Lady Lions. While with the Lions Ochie helped guide the program to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history in 2022-23.

Lee most recently served as a graduate assistant at McNeese State under Guzzardo while also volunteering in player development roles. 

Lee founded the Krewe of Elite AAU Basketball team and served as the Head Coach of the 12U and 16U teams that traveled and competed in tournaments across Louisiana. Additionally, Lee worked with LSU Tiger TV as a reporter and also served as a teacher and coach at Central Community School System 

Ochie and Lee are the final additions to Coach Guzzardo's staff and will join Kenneth Lee, Jr. (associate head coach/ defensive coordinator), Justin Payne (associate head coach), Ronneka Robertson (assistant coach/assistant recruiting coordinator), Amber Gregg (assistant coach/recruiting coordinator), Bri Patton (assistant coach/director of recruiting) and Megan Herboth (executive director of basketball operations and administration).
