Brock Van Faussien joins the Georgia softball staff in 2018 as the program’s volunteer assistant coach. Van Faussien brings collegiate baseball coaching experience with him to Athens. 

In 2015, Van Faussien was part of the baseball staff at Southeastern Louisiana University when the Lions won the Southland Conference Regular Season Championship, setting a school record for wins in a season with 42. 

A member of the coaching staff at Liberty from 2001-02, Van Faussien helped the Flames to a pair of 30-plus win seasons and appearances in the Big South Conference Tournament. 

Van Faussien spent three seasons working in collegiate summer leagues, serving on the staffs of the Edenton Steamers (1998) and Durham Americans (2002) of the Coastal Plains League, and the Orleans Cardinals (2001) in the prestigious Cape Cod League. Current Los Angeles Dodger catcher A.J. Ellis was a member of that Durham Americans squad.

He served as a  graduate assistant baseball coach at Clemson from 1998-99 helping the Tigers to an NCAA Regional appearance in 1998, and a Super Regional appearance at Texas A&M in 1999. During his time at Clemson, Van Faussien worked with future Major Leaguer Khalil Greene, the 2002 Dick Howser Trophy and Golden Spikes Award winner.

A student assistant during his undergrad days at Liberty, Van Faussien was part of the crew that won the Big South Tournament and went on to the Atlantic Regional at Georgia Tech. He also earned the STMA / sportsTURF / Beam Clay 1997 College Baseball Diamond of the Year for the Flames’ Al Worthington Stadium in his time there. 

Van Faussien earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management at Liberty in 1997. He lives in Griffin, Georgia with his wife, Reba, and daughter, Charlotte Sue.
