Georgia Track & Field Representatives Collect Five Metals at the USATF Outdoor Championships

NEW YORK – Current and former Georgia track & field representatives combined for five medals and two national titles, at the 2026 USATF Outdoor Championships on Sunday.

A duo of multi athletes led the way finishing one and two in the decathlon. Former Bulldog Garrett Scantling finished with a total of 8,526 points to claim the national title, while fellow former Bulldog Kyle Garland contributed 8,431 points to take runner-up.

Former NCAA Champion Aaliyah Butler captured the women's 400m title at 49.93, giving the Bulldogs their second gold medal of the meet.

Bulldog representatives would collect two more medals in the men's javelin with a season-best performance from All-American Jordan Davis of 82.36m/270-2 that secured him silver. That finish ranks second overall in the Georgia history book. Marc Minichello added a bronze medal with a mark of 75.98m/249-3, while Nick Reynolds finished fifth at 73.13m/239-11.

Georgia also posted a number of top-eight finishes. Kaila Jackson finished seventh in the women's 100m dash finals at 11.11, fellow Bulldog Jassani Carter followed in eighth at 11.15. Jackson also made the final in the women's 200m dash, finishing sixth at 22.87. In the women's 400m hurdles, Georgia alumni Chloe Fair finished sixth overall at 56.59. 

On the men's side, Le'Ezra Brown finished sixth overall in the men's 110m hurdles at 13.29. Fellow Bulldog Elija Godwin finished seventh overall in the men's 400m at 45.80. 

In the field, Ava Kitchings contributed an eighth place performance in the women's long jump with a leap of 6.12m/20-1.

Professional track and field competition continues with the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland from July 27- Aug. 1 where numerous current and former Bulldogs will represent their home countries.
