Bulldogs Set to Host No. 18 UCLA in NCAA Super Regional

ATHENS, Ga. — The top-seeded Georgia women's tennis team (20-5) will host No. 18 UCLA women's tennis in the NCAA Super Regional on Friday, May 8 at 4 p.m. ET at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Fast Facts

Georgia leads the all-time series against UCLA Bruins women's tennis, 8-5, though UCLA won the most recent meeting, 4-1, in the 2015 NCAA Championship semifinals.
A victory over UCLA would send Georgia to the NCAA quarterfinals for the fourth consecutive season.
UCLA advanced with back-to-back 4-3 wins over San Diego State and No. 16 seed Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona, while Georgia earned two 4-0 sweeps against Alabama State and Charlotte in Athens. The winner will advance to the NCAA Championship final site, also hosted in Athens.
The Bulldogs will look to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament after back-to-back appearances the past two seasons, including last year's national title.
Georgia enters the remainder of the NCAA Championships at home with a 20-match home winning streak.

Georgia features six players in the latest ITA singles rankings: No. 7 Aysegul Mert, No. 19 Anastasiia Lopata, No. 61 Anastasiia Gureva, No. 64 Deniz Dilek, No. 81 Sofia Rojas and No. 93 Emma Dong.
In addition, Georgia has four ranked doubles teams: No. 4 Dilek and Mert, No. 19 Lopata and Patricija Paukstyte, No. 58 Mert and Gureva, and No. 90 while Dilek and Dong.

Scouting the Opponent
UCLA

The Bruins feature two ranked singles players in No. 15 Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer and No. 34 Mayu Crossley, along with the No. 24 doubles pair of Olivia Center and Kate Fakih.
Junior Ahmani Guichard clinched UCLA's spot in the NCAA Super Regional in back-to-back seasons, earning both victories in third sets.
UCLA has won two NCAA championships, in 2008 and 2014, with the 2014 title coming in Athens, Georgia.
