ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia has signed a trio of premier prep prospects – Mading Kuany, Hakeem Weems and Donovan Williams Jr. – to continue their basketball careers at the collegiate level with the Bulldogs, head coach Mike White announced on Wednesday. They will join the roster as freshmen for the 2026-27 season.
Kuany (pronounced muh-ding kuh-wah-nee) is a 6-8, 190-pound forward originally from Melbourne, Australia who played at Iowa United Prep last season. Williams is a 6-3, 180-pound guard from Orlando, Fla., who played at Oak Ridge Academy as a senior.
Kuany was a member of Australia's National Team at the 2024 FIBA U117 and 2025 FIBA U19 World Cups, as well as the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Cup. Before moving for Iowa United Prep, Kuany played for the Centre of Excellence in the NBL1 in 2024 and 2025.
Kuany debuted with the Australian National Team at the 2023 U16 Asian Cup in Doha, Qatar. He helped the Australians capture the Gold Medal while averaging 5.7 points and 2.5 boards per outing. The following year, he contributed 6.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per contest at the 2024 U17 World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey. Kuany played in seven games at the 2025 U19 World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland and contributed 1.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game for Australia, which finished sixth at the tournament.
Kuany also represented Victoria at the 2023 and 2024 U18 Australian Championships, winning a Silver Medal in 2023 and a Bronze in 2024. After averaging 4.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in the 2023 tournament, he upped those efforts to 8.0 points, 8.3 boards and 1.3 blocks the following year.
In addition to his season at IMG, Weems previously played at Monteverde Academy (2024-25), Osborne High School (2023-24) and WD Mohammed School (2021-23). He is a consensus three-star prospect who is ranked among the nation's top-40 prospects at his position, including No. 32 by 247Sports.com and No. 36 by both On3.com and in the 247Sports.com composite.

Last season, Williams averaged 17.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game at Oak Ridge, leading the Pioneers to a 20-10 finish while advancing to the semifinals of Florida's Class 7A State Tournament. As a sophomore, he averaged 16.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.2 steals for an Edgewater Eagles squad that compiled a 23-8 record and was runner-up in Florida's Class 6A state tourney.
