SEC-Leading No. 5 Georgia Travels To No. 17 Ole Miss

ATHENS, GA.-----Fifth-ranked and SEC-leader Georgia (32-10, 13-5 SEC) opens a road series with No. 17 Ole Miss (28-10, 10-8 SEC) Friday on SECN+. First pitch will be at 7:30 p.m. ET and be available on the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network.
Game two of the series will be Saturday at 2 pm ET (SEC Network) and Sunday's action begins at 2:30 pm ET (SECN+).
For the second straight week in the SEC, fifth-ranked Georgia is back on the road as it wraps up a seven-game trip. Georgia is 7-2 in SEC road action and 6-3 in league play at Foley Field.
The 17th-ranked Rebels are 23-4 at home this year and have won 10 of their last 12 games including winning a road series over Tennessee last weekend. For Ole Miss, it was their first series win over UT since 2018 and first in Knoxville since 2016. Meanwhile, Georgia won its second straight series over Arkansas and its first in Fayetteville since 2008 despite getting a total of 7.1 innings out of its starting pitching compared to 18 innings by the Rebels against UT.
Georgia trails in the Ole Miss series 51-43 dating to 1923. The teams last met in Athens in 2024, and the Bulldogs claimed the series 2-1. Ole Miss won the 2023 series in Oxford 2-1. Georgia's last series win in Oxford came in 2011 (2-1).
The Bulldogs dropped their SEC opener to then No. 21 Tennessee but since then have gone 13-4 in league action. Georgia sits in first place by 0.5 games over Texas A&M (12-5). The Bulldogs won their first four SEC series (2-1 over #21 UT, 2-1 @ #21 Texas A&M, 3-0 over USC, 3-0 @ #5 MSU) and then dropped one at home to No. 21 UF (2-1). The second half of the SEC slate began with a road series win over No. 14 Arkansas. After the Ole Miss road series, Georgia plays host to Missouri and LSU before finishing up the regular season at No. 6 Auburn.
Georgia leads the NCAA with 116 Home Runs and a .628 Slugging Percentage while it is fourth in Scoring at 9.6 runs a game. The Bulldogs have an SEC-best .324 Batting Average that ranks sixth nationally. Also, Georgia has a .983 Fielding Percentage, which is 10th nationally.
Junior C Daniel Jackson has a team-high 20 home runs (including three grand slams) followed by junior 3B Tre Phelps and seniors Brennan Hudson and Michael O'Shaughnessy with 14 apiece. Senior SS Kolby Branch and sophomore OF Henry Allen each have 13 home runs. Meanwhile, sophomore CF Rylan Lujo (357-6-24) owns an SEC-best .414 batting average in league games, and he's got a .672 slugging percentage in SEC action too.
