ATHENS, Ga. —  Redshirt freshman Adaejah Hodge set school and national records to win the women's 200-meter dash and top a series of Bulldog highlights on the second day of the Spec Towns Invitational Friday.

Hodge clocked a 22.10 with a legal wind measurement of 1.9 meters/second to run away with the 200m win.  This topped Debbie Ferguson's school record of 22.19 set in 1999, bettered her own British Virgin Islands record, gave her the 2026 collegiate lead and put her as the No. 11 all-time collegiate performer.  Hodge now calls Douglasville, Ga., home but was born in the BVI.

This weekend marks the first meet for the Bulldogs at the Spec Towns Track at the newly completed UGA Track & Field Complex on South Milledge.

Additional Highlights From Friday: Georgia had a series of record-breaking marks that altered the school record books on day two of the three-day meet:

*In the heptathlon finale day, senior Ella Rush took control of the national lead and moved to No. 7 on the 2026 world list after scoring a personal best 5,797 points in the heptathlon to win.  Rush finished with six personal bests out of her seven events.
*Sophomore Maximus Tucker surged into the No. 2 spot in the decathlon in collegiate competition this season and No. 3 spot on the world's 2026 list after scoring 7,786 points.  He won by 937 points and moved to No. 10 in the UGA record books.
*In addition to Hodge's blistering time in the 200m, senior Dejanea Oakley took control of the No. 10 spot in the school record books in the event with her third-place finish (second collegiate finisher) thanks to a 22.78.  Oakley was the 2026 NCAA indoor 400m champion while Hodge was this year's indoor national champion in the 200m en route to UGA's second women's indoor NCAA team title.
*Despite a slightly excessive wind of 2.2 m/s, freshman Jonathan Simms won the men's 200m with a 20.37.  His time takes over the No. 3 spot on this year's collegiate list.
*Sophomore Michelle Smith was the top finisher in the 400m hurdles after making her lap in 55.47.  This bumps her from No. 5 to No. 4 on the NCAA list.
*Fellow sophomore Mohamed Adoini registered a personal best 49.16 in the men's 400m hurdles to win and move to No. 4 in the school record books.  His finish also bettered his No. 2 spot on the national list to No. 1.
*The Bulldogs managed a 2-3 finish in the javelin as senior Jordan Davis sent his sixth and final toss 77.59 meters/254 feet, 6 inches.  This temporarily gave him the lead before Nebraska's Keyshawn Strachan unleashed a final toss of 78.48m/257-6 for the win.  Georgia sophomore Nick Reynolds completed the meet in third thanks to a third effort of 74.28m/243-8.

Hep's Final Four Events:
*Rush started her long jump series with a mark of 6.14m/20-1.75 before launching a personal record of 6.26m/20-6.50 to win the event by nearly a foot.  In the overall standings, Rush extended her lead to 321 points.
*Her best mark in the javelin was her first attempt to take seventh.  Rush watched her opening try travel 33.18m/108-10, which put her up in the overall competition by 350 points.
*Rush completed her heptathlon with yet another personal best in the 800m with a 2:14.75 to take fifth in the event.  Her performance delivered her a 408-point victory with the eight-best score in school history.

Dec's Final Five Events:
*Running out of the second heat, Tucker took seventh overall in the 110m hurdles with a 16.00.  This slid him into second place by a single point.
*He opened the discus with a personal record of 38.44m/126-1 for second place.  Tucker retook the lead by 37 points going into the eighth event (pole vault).
*Tucker flew past his personal best in the pole vault to win the event.  He cleared 4.30m/14-1.25 on his third attempt.  Tucker went into the javelin (ninth event) with a 553-point lead.
*Tucker sandwiched a mark of 48.29m/158-5 in the middle of his javelin series and managed a third-place finish.  This gave him a 553-point edge after nine events.
*He left the field behind in the 1500m to win by nearly 40 seconds.  Tucker had a 46.44 split at the 300m mark and steadily extended his lead before finishing in 4:07.64.

Saturday's Schedule: Nina Ndubuisi and Kelsi Murrell-Ross will start day three in the women's shot put at 11:30 a.m.  The first event on the track is the men's 110m hurdle prelims, which will feature the Bulldogs' Jayden Keys and Le'Ezra Brown at 1 p.m.
