Beth Leads Bulldogs To Liz Murphey Sweep

March 30, 2026 | Women's Golf

Athens, Ga. — Freshman Trinity Beth captured medalist honors to lead the Georgia women's golf team in a sweep of the individual and team titles at the 54th annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Monday at the UGA Golf Course.

Five Fast Facts:
• Georgia wrapped up the tournament at 11-over as a team, three shots ahead of the field. The Bulldogs played Monday in a "play four, count four" situation with no drop score.
• Beth finished the play at 10-under. That tally was a stroke shy of the Liz Murphey tournament record and equaled the fifth-best relation-to-par score in program history. Beth followed a 66 on Saturday with a 69 in the second round and a 71 in the final round. She has now recorded 11 par-or-better scores in 14 rounds since joining the Bulldogs as a mid-year enrollee in January.
• Three Bulldogs carded 1-under 71s on Monday – Beth, Karoline Tuttle and graduate transfer Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, who was playing her final competitive round on the UGA Golf Course.
• Tuttle finished tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard, her fourth top-10 finish in nine tournaments this season.
• Georgia won its 15th team title and 13th individual crown in the 54-year history of the Liz Murphey. Monday was the Bulldogs' first team and individual victories at the tourney since 2017, which is also the last time Georgia kept both trophies in Athens.

Key Quotes:
Head Coach Erika Brennan:

On the team's performance:
"It's always special to win on your home course, and it's hard to win golf tournaments. To be able to defend at home is incredible. To do it today with only four girls is even more special. They showed a lot of grit and a lot of fight, and it was a great day."

On freshman Trinity Beth:
With Trinity, there's just not a a lot of weaknesses in her game. More than anything, she's mentally tough. That kid is a competitor. She wants to step on your throat every time she tease it up and really she's just solid. She hits it with lots of distance off the tee, great iron game, phenomenal short game. She's just a complete player. We're really really excited for her future."

Trinity Beth:
On her first college win:
"It's really special. I'm really glad to have obviously won my first college tournament, but it just made it even more fun and special that it got to be here at Georgia.

On the key to her success:
"I think it was just important to stay in the moment and stay present and that was really what I tried to do all week. It wasn't even about golf. It was more just who could be calm and stay in the moment."

Up Next:
Georgia will open postseason play at the SEC Championships Friday, April 17 at Pelican Golf Club in Bellair, Fla. The tournament will feature 54 holes of stroke play on Friday-Sunday. The field will then be trimmed to eight teams competing in a match play bracket to determine the SEC champion.
