March 03, 2026 | Baseball
KENNESAW, Ga. — No. 8 Georgia blasted Kennesaw State 11-1 in its first road test Tuesday, winning in eight innings due to the run-rule.
Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson
On the team's performance Tuesday.
"We got six games in six days and for Paul (Farley) to come out tonight and give us six innings of one-run baseball was huge. He attacked the strike zone, got some quick outs. We knew they were going to be aggressive. He commanded the zone, worked the edges and was really good. Offensively, Tre Phelps starts us off again with a great swing on a two-run homer in the first. Our hitters were locked in all night. Our coaches did a great job preparing them. Jordy (Oriach) had a big double to clear the bases and Michael (O'Shaughnessy) with a three-run homer late. Kennesaw is a good ballclub, probably the best I've seen in my time here. They are going to win a lot of ball games but our offense was phenomenal tonight."
