Georgia Faces KSU Tuesday At Foley Field

ATHENS, GA.-----Georgia, ranked as high as No. 4 nationally this week, returns to action Tuesday at Foley Field when the Owls of Kennesaw State visit Foley Field. First pitch will be at 3:02 p.m. and be available on the SECN+ and the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network.
Five-Game Stretch Starts At Foley Field With KSU
Georgia (20-5, 4-2 SEC), under the direction of Ike Cousins head baseball coach Wes Johnson, faces Kennesaw State (10-10) for the second time this season. The clubs met in Kennesaw on March 3 when the Bulldogs posted an 11-1 run-rule victory in eight innings.
Recently, the Bulldogs went to No. 21 Texas A&M and registered its first ever series win in College Station. Also, the Aggies were 14-0 at home this year before the series with the Bulldogs. Georgia hit .283 with 11 home runs during the Texas A&M series with Sunday's 18-5 loss skewing the pitching numbers after 9-4 and 8-2 wins in the first two games. Meanwhile, KSU played host to Liberty, and the Owls avoided a sweep with a 4-3 win this past Sunday. The Flames outlasted KSU in the opener, winning 2-0 in 10 innings.
The Bulldogs are 17-4 at home this year including an 8-5 comeback win over The Citadel last Tuesday capped by a three-run walk-off home run by Kolby Branch. Georgia holds a 27-11 edge in the series against the Owls and have won the past 10 meetings.
Georgia Leads Nation In Home Runs, Slugging And Fielding
Georgia has an NCAA-leading 80 home runs, a .682 SLG% and a .989 FLDG%. Also, the Bulldogs rank fourth in runs scored (251), fifth in on base percentage (.462), sixth in scoring per game (10.0) and eighth in batting average (.335).
*Georgia is averaging an NCAA-leading 3.20 Home Runs per Game (HR/G) in 2026. The 2025 squad averaged 2.40 HR/G while the 2024 team averaged 2.52 HR/G. The 2024 team hit a school record 151 home runs while the 2025 team finished second with 144.
KSU is batting .268 with 20 home runs and fielding .968. They average 5.8 runs per game

Thomas Ellisen (0-1, 6.14 ERA), RHP, Gr., vs. Noah Sliver (0-0, 3.92 ERA), RHP, Sr.
Ellisen, a 6-4, 2113-pound graduate transfer from UCONN, will be making his sixth appearance for the Bulldogs including his first start. In 7.1 innings this year, he has allowed five runs with one walk and eight strikeouts. With the Huskies, he went 11-4 with a 5.90 ERA in 57 games including 18 starts.
*The Bulldogs sport a 4.17 ERA with 267 strikeouts and 94 walks. Opponents are batting .231.
*The Owls have a 6.18 ERA with 165 strikeouts and 100 walks. Opponents are hitting .276.

*Junior C/OF Daniel Jackson (.411-15-38, 11 SB) ranks in the top six nationally in six offensive categories including second in home runs and total bases (90), third in SLG% (.947) plus eighth in RBI. Jackson saw his career-best 21-game hitting streak end this past Sunday at No. 21 Texas A&M.
*Sophomore Jordy Oriach (.375-5-16) batted .625 in the Texas A&M series and three of his five hits were home runs. Eight Bulldogs hit a combined 11 home runs against the Aggies.
*Junior 3B Tre Phelps (.396-10-27) ranks sixth nationally in hit-by-pitches (15) and in runs scored (35). He saw his 27-game hitting streak dating to the 2025 season end against WCU earlier this month . This past Sunday, he left the game against the Aggies due to a hamstring cramp. He is expected back this week.
On Deck: South Carolina Visits Foley Field
*Georgia continues SEC action Friday night when it plays host to South Carolina (13-12, 1-5 SEC). The Bulldogs are one of seven teams tied for the SEC lead at 4-2. The Gamecocks are now led by interim coach Monte Lee after parting ways with Paul Maineri last Saturday. USC faces North Carolina Tuesday in Charlotte before coming to Athens.
