Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson
On today's offensive showing…
"Couldn't be happier. We can start all the way at the top and come all the way down. Tre Phelps is six for his last six, with a walk in there. Ryan Black got a big double. Michael O'Shaughnessy, Daniel Jackson. Our game's funny. Daniel lined out at 110 [mph] how many times and then he gets one at 55 [mph]. Michael O'Shaughnessy, two big homers. Henry Allen, another guy who came in today with the bases loaded right there in the third. I thought he had a really good first at-bat. That guy was really mixing those changeups in there. It's tough. Everybody thinks 'Oh, it's just 74 [mph].' It's hard to hit. We work on 95 [mph] every day, so that guy held us at bay. I thought Henry's at-bat, that base clearing double, was huge."
#27 Dylan Vigue | Jr. | RHP
On his performance today…
"I think overall it went pretty well. It's just about what me and Wes [Johnson] talked about – keeping that intent and that confidence to a whole outing. Obviously, the third was a little shaky, but then Wes came out there and just kept that belief in me, and we got out of that inning and had a clean fourth after that."
#28 Brennan Hudson | Sr. | 1B
On executing the plan for today's game offensively…
"I honestly think everybody stuck with the approach, and it just panned out really well. We've been putting our work in, and we saw it last week. The whole message was to make sure we finished the job and kept on swinging. I think that's what our guys did today."
