On the team's culture…
"We had three good events last week and some hiccups on beam, so seeing them bounce back and go 49.550 on beam, that's amazing. That shows us they're not letting anything get in their way, and we practice like that. We had Lily [Smith] miss on bars, but that's why she has teammates; you can't be perfect every time. The depth and support that they have, they just work together very well. That's why we're doing what we're doing."
On Lily Smith…
"It was huge for her. She had some bobbles last week on beams and the miss on bars tonight. I told her, 'That's why you have teammates, you can't be perfect all the time, go back and refocus,' then she did that on beam and floor. That's a testament to her training on a daily basis; she's a great athlete, and she bounced back. That's the character of this team in general."
Lily Smith, Jr.
On her mindset going into her floor routine…
"My teammates set me up so good, so I was like, go out there, do your normal, have fun. I saw the scores, our all-around scores. I just go out there, do my normal, and do what I do in practice. I didn't want to change anything, just do my normal."
CaMarah Williams, Fr.
On the start to her freshman season…
"It's been really rushed. I got put in right when the season started, and everything was hitting me at one time, but the team kept me going. Having each one of them by my side really helped, and taking one day at a time was my cue. I wasn't trying to rush into anything and tried not to be so hard on myself."
UP NEXT:
The GymDogs will return to Stegeman to host No. 11 Auburn for a dual meet on Sunday, Feb. 1. The meet will begin at 6 p.m. ET, airing live on SEC Network. Georgia will celebrate Hairy Dawg's Birthday, with the first 250 UGA Students receiving a GymDogs sweatshirt.
