Georgia Track & Field Wraps Up Orange & Purple Invite and Day One at New Mexico

Albuquerque, N.M./ Clemson, S.C. — Georgia Track & Field wraps up time at Clemson's Orange & Purple Invite and Day One at New Mexico's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invite on Friday night.
Fast Facts
• Action started the Orange & Purple Invite with sophomore Maximus Tucker's shot put indoor career-best heave of 13.67m/44-10.25.
• Senior Alon Rogow continued with a solid performance in the men's pole vault with a leap of 4.95m/16-02.75 that was tied for seventh place.
• Meanwhile in New Mexico, sophomore Jayden Keys took the crown in the men's long jump for the second time this season. Key's 7.89m/25-10.75 leap registered as a season-best and the sixth-best men's long jump in the current NCAA rankings.
• The winning streak continued with graduate transfer Kimani Jack in the men's high jump. Jack soared over the bar at 2.20m/7-02.50on the first pass to claim his second event win of the season. Senior Brion Stephens also passed the bar 2.20m/7-02.50 on the third attempt to claim second.
• Freshman Valeria Smirnova found similar success registering a season-best of 1.85m/6-00.75 that tied her for second-place and ranked her seventh in the current NCAA rankings.
• Georgia finished off the night with a pair of impressive 200-meter dash performances. Senior Kaila Jackson crossed the line first for the Bulldogs in the invitational section, finishing in third at 23.25 and sophomore Sole Frederick in fifth with indoor PR of 23.40 – those ties rank seventh and 10th in the current NCAA rankings.
