COLUMBIA, S.C. – Redshirt freshman Cooper Johnson and freshman Noah Johnston each tallied their first wins as Bulldog on the opening day of the Carolina Classic at the Carolina Tennis Center on Friday.

Cooper Johnson is set for a consolation semifinal against Columbia's Jakub Katuch in Flight 1, and Noah Johnston advances to the semifinals of Flight 2 to face the winner of Atakan Karahan (South Carolina) and Thanapat Boosarawongse (Columbia). The duo will also face off against South Carolina State's Anh Hoang La Pham/Bastian Zamora in the first round of doubles action in Flight B. Chen will face Tulsa's Reiya Komagata at 11:30 a.m. ET, Giamichelle will face Ohio State's Brandon Carpico at 12:00 p.m. ET and Vulpitta will face Nebraska's Henry Lamchinniah at 11:30 a.m. ET. In doubles, No. 84 Chen/Giamichelle will take on Nebraska's Henry Lamchinniah/Leo Lopez Linquet in the first round of pre-qualifying doubles at 3:30 p.m. ET.
