12th-Seeded Georgia will Play Kentucky in First Round of SEC Tournament

ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia Bulldogs softball team will be the No. 12 seed in next week's SEC Softball Tournament and will play the 13th-seeded Kentucky Wildcats in the opening round on Tuesday.
 
First pitch between the Bulldogs and Wildcats is set for 1 p.m., live from Jack Turner Stadium on SEC Network. The winner will advance to play fifth-seeded Arkansas on Wednesday, also airing live on SEC Network.
 
Jack Turner Stadium will host the SEC Tournament for the first time since 2006. The Bulldogs are 1-1 at home in the SEC Tournament. Georgia is 2-2 against Kentucky in the SEC Tournament, most recently losing to the Wildcats in Tuscaloosa in 2021.
 
Georgia is 22-26 all-time in the SEC Tournament. Tony Baldwin is 1-3 in three appearances in his tenure as head coach in the tournament.
