A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia returns home to open a five-game home stretch beginning Wednesday, March 19 when Georgia State rolls into Athens. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Jack Turner Stadium. The Bulldogs then welcome No. 4 LSU to Athens for a weekend series beginning Friday, March 21.

Let's Recap
Esther White's solo home run in bottom of the sixth inning propelled Georgia to a 1-0 victory over Georgia Southern on Wednesday evening. Lilli Backes earned the win in the circle for the Bulldogs to improve to 9-1 on the season. The senior struck out six while earning her second shutout of the year. White blasted a solo shot over the center field wall with two outs in the sixth inning to break a scoreless draw between the Bulldogs and Eagles. The freshman provided Georgia's lone hit and run while tallying her third home run of the season. Backes struck out Georgia Southern's Delanie Thames with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh to seal the Bulldogs' win.

Goodwin Paces the Offense
Through the first month of the season, junior Jaydyn Goodwin is having a career year so far. She leads the team with a .395 batting average, .750 slugging, 24 runs, 30 hits, five home runs, four triples, and 57 total bases and is second on the team with 24 RBI. Goodwin has registered the most multi-hit games (9) and multi-RBI games (8).

Starting Strong
41 of Georgia's 145 runs (28 percent) have come in the first inning. The Bulldogs have scored five or more runs in the first inning six times. UGA has pushed a run across in the first inning in 13 games, going 12-1 in those games.

Packing The Jack
Georgia fans came out strong for last weekend's Tennessee series, packing Jack Turner Stadium and recording two top-10 attendances. Saturday's crowd of 2,316 was the fourth largest in stadium history. Sunday's game drew 2,198. In all, 6,585 came out for the Bulldogs and Lady Vols series. That number sets a new series attendance record at Jack Turner Stadium beating out the previous record of 6,226 against No. 2 Florida in 2018.
