Stockton Named Manning Award Finalist

ATHENS, Ga. --- Bulldog redshirt junior quarterback Gunner Stockton has been named one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award, according to an announcement from the award and the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Stockton, a native of Tiger, Ga., is also a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The Manning Award will name its 22nd winner after the postseason in January 2026.
Stetson Bennett won the 2022 Manning Award while leading Georgia to its second straight national championship. Bulldogs have been no stranger to finishing as Manning Award finalists since its inception in 2004. Carson Beck (2023-24), Jake Fromm (2018-19), Aaron Murray (2012-13), Matthew Stafford (2008), D.J. Shockley (2005) and David Greene (2004) were also all finalists at least once in their careers.
Stockton has completed 231 of 329 passing attempts (70.2 Completion Percentage, 10th nationally) for 2,525 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 403 yards and a team-leading eight scores. Stockton is 4-1 versus top 25 teams, including finishing a combined 50-for-60 for 518 yards, eight passing touchdowns and only one interception while adding 88 yards rushing with three scores during the victories over No. 5 Ole Miss and No. 10 Texas.
No. 3 Georgia (11-1, 7-1 SEC) makes the short trip to Atlanta to face No. 9 Alabama (10-2, 7-1) in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game on Saturday. ABC will televise the matchup from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium at 4 p.m.
