Quotes
Coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson
On Georgia's win being the first over Georgia Tech at home 2017…
"I'm just so happy for our team because they're very selfless. They were face-guarding [Guard Dani Carnegie] and they just stayed the course for her. She was cool about not having to score in the first quarter and we were getting some open looks because they were face guarding her. So, obviously, Dani went [to Georgia Tech] and I know the person who recruited her isn't there anymore, so it's kind of not her house anymore. She's just kind of made this home for her. So, I'm excited for Dani."
On preparing Guard Dani Carnegie to face her former teammates…
"I don't have to prepare Dani for anything. I've talked to you guys before about Dani. She is just so locked in. I haven't met a lot of people like that in terms of coaching for 30 years. She was being face guarded and some people would rattle. She was just cool, calm and collected. And she was picking and choosing her spots that she could get some shots off. So, she's pretty amazing and I didn't have to prepare her at all. She was in the gym shooting extra yesterday after her shoot-around. She stayed a little bit, her and [Guard Savannah Henderson] stayed a little longer."
Dani Carnegie
On holding Georgia Tech to four points in the second quarter...
"It was a statement; we had to lock in for defense. The first quarter was a little bit rocky. So, we had to show people what our identity is, which is defense."
On playing alongside three capable guards and splitting up points...
"I'll play with them any day. I know they [are] buckets for sure. So, that's why when they were face guarding me in the first half, I knew I could trust them to get a bucket for themselves."
Trinity Turner
On holding Georgia Tech to four points in the second quarter...
"The change, I would say, was our defense. We just locked into the game plan."
On playing alongside three capable guards and splitting up points...
"I feel great. The two are just coming in and being a bucket. Just free up the offense a little bit."
