Bulldogs Continue Strong Week at UGA Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – Three of the 10 fastest men's backstroke times in program history highlighted the University of Georgia swimming and diving teams' third day of competition at the 2025 Georgia Fall Invitational Thursday at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

The Georgia Fall Invitational concludes Friday with the 200y individual medley, 100y freestyle, 200y butterfly, 200y backstroke, platform diving, and 400y freestyle relay. Swimming prelims begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the diving competition at 11:30 a.m., and swimming finals at 5 p.m. Admission is free for all spectators at Gabrielsen Natatorium. Live results will be available on MeetMobile and DiveMeets, with live streaming on SEC Network+.

- Men's 400y Medley Relay – Senior Ruard van Renen, sophomore Elliot Woodburn, graduate Luca Urlando, and junior Tomas Koski prevailed with a season-best A-cut of 3:00.84, the second-fastest time in program history. Van Renen led off with a 100y back split of 44.46, the 10th-fastest in program history, with Koski anchoring at 41.62.
- Men's 100y Backstroke – van Renen touched first with a season-best NCAA cut of 43.92, the fourth-fastest time in program history. Earlier in prelims, van Renen qualified first with a time of 44.45 which now ranks ninth in the program rankings. Urlando finished third with a season-best time of 44.79. Senior Sam Powe placed eighth with an NCAA time of 46.11. Freshman Hayden Meyers placed ninth with a PB of 46.38, while fellow rookie Sascha Macht took the 'C' final with a PB of 47.17.
- Women's 200y Breaststroke – Freshman Elizabeth Nawrocki placed second with a personal-best NCAA time of 2:08.44, becoming the sixth-fastest performer in program history. Sophomore Charlotte Headland finished seventh with an NCAA cut of 2:10.51.
- Women's 500y Freestyle – Sophomore Marie Landreneau was runner up with a personal-best NCAA time of 4:39.73, followed by junior Elizabeth Tilt in third with a PB of 4:42.40. Senior Shea Furse finished fifth with a season-best time of 4:42.68, followed by freshman Clarke Neace in sixth with a PB of 4:43.79.
- Men's 500y Freestyle – Junior Tomas Koski finished third with an NCAA cut of 4:14.13, followed by freshman Sean Green in fourth with a personal-best NCAA time of 4:14.75. Freshman Sean Green placed seventh with a time of 4:20.76, while redshirt fifth year Tommy-Lee Camblong won the 'C' final with a season-best 4:19.21.
- Men's 200y Breaststroke – Senior Cale Martter finished fourth with an NCAA cut of 1:54.38, following a season-best time of 1:53.65 in prelims that ranked him fifth in program history. Woodburn finished fifth with a personal-best time of 1:54.39, becoming the seventh-fastest performer in program history.
- Women's 400y Medley Relay – Senior Ieva Maluka, Nawrocki, freshman Izzy Beu, and Landreneau finished sixth with a season-best time of 3:33.81. Maluka led off with a season-best time of 53.17, while Landreneau anchored at 48.45.
- Men's 50y Freestyle – Sophomore Tane Bidois finished sixth with a season-best NCAA cut of 19.43.
- Men's 1-meter – Junior Matthew Bray finished sixth with a Zone cut of 322.05, following an eighth-place mark of 309.15 in prelims.
- Women's 50y Freestyle – Sophomore Katie Belle Sikes finished seventh with a season-best time of 22.39. Freshman Hayden Hollingsworth placed 19th with a season-best 23.03, while fellow freshman Marin Clem tied for 20th at 23.10.
- Women's 100y Backstroke – Sikes won the consolation final with a personal-best time of 52.76. Senior Emma Norton placed 15th with a season-best time of 54.13, followed by sophomore Samantha Rydzewski in 16th at 54.47.
- Men's 100y Butterfly – In a morning time trial, sophomore Drew Hitchcock posted a new personal-best time of 45.30, moving him to fourth all-time in program history.
