Jaden Woods

Bulldog Duo Reunited In Prestigious Arizona Fall League

October 06, 2025 | Baseball

ATHENS, Ga. – Former Georgia standouts Charlie Condon and Jaden Woods will be teammates again for the Salt River Rafters as they have been selected to play in the Major League Baseball Arizona Fall League (AFL).

The 2025 AFL season, which features many of the top MLB prospects, begins today and runs through November 15. The AFL is designed to serve as the "finishing school" of the minor leagues for players, coaches, umpires and aspiring employees in premier training facilities. Each MLB team sends seven top prospects to the AFL, and the games are played in six total ballparks that house MLB Spring Training, with select events in additional ballparks.

Condon, a 6-6, 216-pound infielder/outfielder from Marietta, is the No. 2 prospect in the Colorado Rockies organization. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft, Condon hit 14 homers with a .444 slugging percentage while playing across three levels this year. He posted a strong finish after breaking his wrist during Spring Training that delayed the start of his first full professional season. He hit 11 of his home runs for the Double-A Hartford Yard Goats while posting a .465 slugging percentage in 55 games.

Woods, a 6-2, 205-pound pitcher from Macon, has been a rising prospect in the Pirates organization since being converted to a reliever. With a mid-90s fastball and a slider that touches the upper-80s, the former seventh-round pick in 2023, enjoyed another solid campaign for the Double-A Altoona Curve. In 44 appearances, he struck out 68 with 34 walks in 62 innings. He posted a 5-5 mark and 5.81 ERA.

Woods graduated in three years from UGA, earning a degree in sports management in 2023. In his final season, he went 3-3 in 10 starts with a 5.77 ERA as the Bulldogs finished 29-27. Condon played two seasons for the Bulldogs and put together one of the greatest years in college baseball history in 2024 when the All-American swept every major honor including the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy. He became only the third player in NCAA history to lead the nation in both batting average (.433) and home runs (school record 37) in the same season. He helped the 2024 Bulldogs to their finest season in nearly two decades as they went 43-17 and advanced to an NCAA Super Regional.

Most of the 2025 AFL season will be available to watch live on MLB.com and the AFL website, https://www.mlb.com/arizona-fall-league. The regular season consists of 30 games. The AFL's annual Home Run Derby will be Nov. 8, followed by the Fall Stars Game, Nov. 9, both taking place at Sloan Park in Mesa.

The Rafters squad will feature prospects from the Rockies, Los Angeles Angels, Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox. Their first game will be Tuesday, Oct. 7. MLB has changed the postseason format this year where all six AFL teams will make the playoffs, and the top two clubs will receive a first-round bye. The league's Championship Game on Nov. 15 will be played at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale.
