OXFORD, Miss. — The Georgia Bulldogs (12-2, 0-1 SEC) fell to the Ole Miss Rebels (12-2, 1-0 SEC), 63-51, in its Southeastern Conference opener on Saturday afternoon at The Pavilion at Ole Miss. Freshman forward Asa Newell reached double figures with a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double on the day.

"Ole Miss' defense was the biggest factor in the game," head coach Mike White said. "Just their attention to detail, their switchability and their detail with their switching. Their physicality, one through five. We played half the game with guards guarding our bigs and just didn't do a good enough job taking advantage of those mismatches.
