Bulldog Sports Medicine Updates For Norman, Madaleno

ATHENS, Ga. --- Connor Norman and Ryan Madaleno will have expanded roles within the University of Georgia Athletic Association's Sports Medicine department for football.
Norman, a UGA graduate and 2010-13 football letterman, will be the Director of Football Sports Medicine while Madaleno, who has been with the program since 2021, will be football's Head Athletic Trainer. Norman will oversee the department operations and staff. Madaleno's role will be to focus on day to day management of the football players' health.
Norman played under Mark Richt, playing defensive back and on special teams. The 2013 team captain recently competed his eighth season working with the football team. Norman served as the program's Director of Rehab from 2017-2023 after earning undergraduate degrees in Exercise Science and Athletic Trailing from UGA and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Belmont University. Certified as an emergency medical technician, certified strength and conditioning specialist and sports certified specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association, Norman is married to Hannah (UGA graduate) and they have two children: Hampton and Grady.
Madaleno graduated from Eastern Kentucky with a degree in Athletic Training before earning his Master's degree in Health Studies from Alabama. He has been an associate athletic trainer with Georgia's football team since 2021. Madaleno started his career as intern with the New York Giants and then was a graduate assistant trainer with Alabama in 2015-16 before serving as a full-time assistant athletic trainer for Florida from 2017-21. Certified as an emergency medical technician, Madaleno is married to Collier, who serves as the Bulldogs' Director of Football Performance Nutrition, and the couple has one son: Louis James Madaleno.
