Bulldogs Reach Doubles Consolation Semifinals at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Four Bulldogs earned victories to progress in the consolation stages of the main draws during day seven of the ITA Men's All-American Championships on Friday.

No. 2 Blaydes/Ratiu def. No. 47 Dous Karpenschif/Schiessl (Florida State), 6-3, 7-6(2)

No. 28 Ryan Colby def. No. 42 Kenta Miyoshi (Illinois), 6-4, 7-5
No. 121 Noah Zamora (UC Irvine) def. No. 64 Miguel Perez Peña, 7-5, 6-3
Main Draw Consolation R16 Q
No. 14 Thomas Paulsell def. No. 28 Ryan Colby, 6-0, 6-4
Key Moments:
Freddy Blaydes and Niels Ratiu advanced to the semifinals of the consolation stage of the doubles main draw after defeating Florida State's Joshua Dous Karpenschif and Erik Schiessl 6-3, 7-6(2).
Thomas Paulsell also progressed in the consolation stage of the singles main draw, reaching the round of 16 after defeating teammate Ryan Colby 6-0, 6-4 in the round of 16 qualifier.
Key Quote: "Niels and Freddy are getting better with each match," said head coach Jamie Hunt. "Thomas also played his best match of the tournament to beat Ryan today. I'm excited for all of them to continue competing tomorrow!"
