Jansen Advances to NCAA Round of 16, Becomes Program’s 56th All-American

ORLANDO, Fla. – Senior Will Jansen defeated Ohio State's No. 4 (3-seed) Aidan Kim in the NCAA Singles Championships round of 32 at the USTA National Campus on Wednesday afternoon. By advancing to the round of 16, Jansen earns Singles All-American status.

  • No. 103 Will Jansen defeats No. 4 Aidan Kim, 7-5, 6-2. Kim was the tournament's No. 3 overall seed.
  • The win marks the highest ranked singles win of Jansen's collegiate career. His previous highest ranked singles win came in his NCAA qualifying quarterfinal playoff win over No. 21 Aleksa Krivokapic at the ITA South Sectional.
  • Jansen won in straight sets. In the second set, he broke serve to go up 3-1 and won three of the final four games to take the match.
  • With the result, Jansen becomes the program's 56th All-American, a year following former Bulldog Thomas Paulsell's placement in the round of 16 to earn All-American status.
  • The All-American honor is Jansen's second All-American nod of his career and his first in singles.
