Key Quotes
Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig
On the Red and Black Scrimmage…
"What a wonderful day today. Bright, sunny, sunshiny day, but what was even brighter were these freshmen coming in and the intensity they put into this. Our focus on being about our time is really about that focus and that pursuit that they're using together every moment. From the second we showed up with the music, the collaboration, to the minute we're leaving here and preparing. Just an extraordinary group. Really poising wonderful things for today and for our future and this semester kicking off."

On the performance of the team…
"I'm seeing some incredible 90 scores, some 74's, seeing elimination of tons of errors. It bodes really good things for us in the sense that we're willing already, day one, to go for big scores. Willing to push things. None of this was easy. We certainly really tested them with some colder horses today. Colder horse on a hot day means the strength that they need to be at here and testing this early on in the season was extraordinary. What better way to prepare as a team as we open up next week against TCU."

On upperclassmen helping to coach the Red and Black teams…
"One other extraordinary thing about our Red and Black Scrimmage is that our upperclassmen, our starters from years past, often are coming in and helping us coach these scrimmages because there's two teams going at all times. We need all the extra help. What I'm so impressed with was watching their leadership, their intent, how much they were pouring into their teammates. Watching them, so proud of it and exponentially investing in your teammates, we're going to do incredible things."

Sophomore Liza Cram
On the Red and Black Scrimmage…
"I thought today was a really good challenge for everybody. It was beautiful weather and I've never ridden either of the horses I rode today so that was super exciting and a fun challenge for me. It's always fun to be out here with everybody and just the teammates coming together and gearing up for winning our eighth national championship."
