Georgia, van Wyk in First Heading into Final Round at The Goodwin

SAN FRANCISCO – The No. 22 Georgia men's golf team stands alone in first place after it finished round two at the Goodwin on Friday, with a four-over-par, 564, paced by graduate Ben van Wyk, who is in first individually after his three-under 67 round.
 
Georgia finished the day at five-over-par, 285, to lead by one stroke over Tennessee on the team leaderboards. Stanford trails in third by two strokes after a seven-over 287 in the second round. Utah, tied for third, and Clemson, tied for fifth, are also in the top five but were midway through the round at the time Georgia finished. The Bulldogs are tied for the team lead in pars with 118. 
 
Caleb Manuel joins van Wyk in the top 10 of the player standings at t-7th after Friday's round. The senior, who is competing individually, shot two-under 68 with birdies on holes three, six, 11 and 15, upping his total to seven on the tournament, tied with Connor Creasy for the seventh most in the field. Creasy's four birdies came on holes three, 10, 16 and 17, pushing his two-day total to two-over, 142, and is currently t-24th.
 
Junior Buck Brumlow and freshman Camden Smith rounded out the counting scores for Georgia on Friday, shooting three-over 73 and four-over 74 respectively. Brumlow's two-over, 142 total, ties him on the player standings with Creasy for t-24th.
 
Georgia will play in the final round of The Goodwin on Saturday, March 30, with the team set to tee off at 12:05 p.m. ET.
