Creasy Earns Second-Straight Top 10 Finish at Southern Highlands Collegiate

LAS VEGAS – The No. 29 Georgia men's golf team finished with the third-lowest score during the third round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Tuesday afternoon, placing 10th on the team leaderboards paced by Connor Creasy's second-straight appearance in the top 10 individually.
The Bulldogs carded a four-under-par, 284 total during the final day of the event, bested only by No. 15 Oklahoma, who won the tournament, and No. 2 Auburn, who finished in second. Georgia tied with No. 30 Texas A&M, both schools earning a 14-over, 878 finish.
Creasy finished tied for ninth with a two-under, 214 total. His final round of 70 saw 14 pars, birdies on holes seven, nine and 14 with just one bogey. This marks the second time in the graduate student's career that he has recorded consecutive finishes in the top 10.
Freshman Camden Smith earned his personal best result tied for 21st at two-over 218 while competing as an individual. Ben van Wyk placed in the top 30 individually for the fifth straight tournament. The graduate student shot even par during the final round for a t-29th finish at three-over 219, just one shot behind Smith.
Caleb Manuel tied Creasy for the best round final round on the team with a two-under 70. The pair was two of 13 golfers in the 84-person field to shoot 70 or better on Tuesday. Beck Burnette capped off the tournament also with an even-par 72 for a nine-over, 225 finish.
The Bulldogs will stay in Georgia for their next tournament, playing in the Linger Longer Invitational from March 17-19. The tournament, hosted by Kennesaw State, will be played at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
